Mr Ben McGilton, PhD researcher at the University of Edinburgh, made the long journey to the AWTEC 2018 conference in Taipei, Taiwan on September 9-13 2018.  He presented his e-Drive research into the application magnetic gears as a means of non-mechanical speed enhancement for marine energy power take-off systems. His paper was entitled: "Dynamic Model Testing of a Combined C-Gen Magnetic Gear System for an Oscillating Wave Surge Converter." A PDF version of the conference paper can be downloaded below.
