Mr Ben McGilton, PhD researcher at the University of Edinburgh, presented at the 7th International Conference on Renewable Power Generation, September 26-27 2018 https://events.theiet.org/rpg/.  He presented his e-Drive research into the application magnetic gears as a means of non-mechanical speed enhancement for marine energy power take-off systems. His paper was entitled: "An Investigation into Linear Generators with Integrated Magnetic Gear for Wave Energy Power Take-Off."
